Welcome to the Dubuque Fine Arts Players
Audition Announcement!
The Dubuque Fine Arts Players One Act Play Contest is casting the three winning plays of this year’s contest. We will have auditions at the Terence Donoghue Theatre at Clarke College on July 18 and 19 from 7:00-9:00 PM.
We do not require previous acting experience. In fact, we love first timers! If you have ever wanted to get into theater, now is your chance!
The first prize play, a fantasy entitled "Spoken For" by S L Daniels of Chicago, IL, needs two males and two females of any age. It will be directed by Brandon Pape.
The second prize play, a drama entitled "The Calibration of Bliss" by Bob Wilson of Phoenix, AZ, needs a woman who can play 60s, and a man aged 30-50. It will be directed by Mary Auman.
The third prize play, a comedy called "Passion, Peril, and Certified Public Accountancy" by Christopher Morse of Idlewild, CA, needs two men, one aged 40-65 and the other 18-25. It will be directed by Ben Barlow.
Scripts are available at the Reference Desk at the Dubuque Public Library. Performances will be on Friday and Saturday, September 24 and 25, at the Grand Opera House.
Submissions for 2011 will be accepted starting in November of 2010
